This is what he said to me: “Food is the materials you use to fuel and build your body. So depending on the purpose for which you intend to use your body, the food you put in it makes a world of difference.
Consider this for a moment. You design the most beautiful tower, like the CN tower, but use inferior material to build it. Would the tower stand for very long? No, right?
Now look in the animal kingdom. Animals eat according to their design and purpose. Likewise, human should follow the same model. For instance, if you want to be a farmer you eat one way and if you want to work in an office you must eat another way. There is no need for an office worker to eat like a farmer because the requirements of the body is completely different. Therefore, if you want to be energetic and quick thinking, most of what you eat right now will not give you that result.
Here are some simple facts to consider.
The human alimentary canal is approximately 20-30 feet long. It takes raw meat 70-72 hours to pass through it, cooked meat 48-52 hours, cooked vegetable takes 24-30 hours, raw vegetables 12-15 hours, and fruits 2.5-3 hours.
The body uses approximately 8-15% of its total energy expenditure to digest food. And if you are spending nearly 30% of your week digesting food, how energetic or efficient do you think you will be?
Did you know that if you leave meat out for 72 hours, it will rot? Well, the same thing is happening inside your body. When you combine this with preservatives, refined sugars and processed foods, what do you think will happen to you?”
The conversation went on for quite awhile with some pretty interesting views on food. I’m not saying that I agree with all of what he had to say; however, I had to sit quietly and think for a moment because some of what he said really hit home.
